Images and Hotlinking

Okay if anyone is having problems seeing images....on our website or blogs will you please let me know? Or where ever you view them please let me know.

Our webhost now has hotlink protection and we get LOTS of hotlinkers because I make icons. Really it gets ridiculous how many hotlink from myspace and xanga we get snagging our bandwidth. I turned on hotlink protection this week and found out that like if you are viewing something on your friend's page on livejournal - you most likely won't see the images I host through our website - like icons. So it is pain but on the other hand I also think it is worth it for those that do hotlink. I don't get why people can't save to their own webservers. I save all sorts of images I have found on our own servers and never hotlink. Plus there are many free picture hosting places out there now too so it is not that hard to find a place to host pictures. Drop me a line if you are needing a place.

But if you do have problems...would you let me know...I would like to see if there is ways I can get around it so let me know where you are having a problem seeing an image? Thank you!

Not IE compatible

I just realized that my template is not IE compatible.....I usually check to make sure I am compatible in each. Why I didn't with this one I am not sure. I just got done telling Ti-Jae the other day that I always check to make sure because that is what I always have done when creating websites - the graphic artist in me I guess. But somehow this one slipped past me for checking it in IE.

Firefox is much more stable then IE. I don't nearly have all the problems I had with IE. I actually had only one problem with Firefox and I found the cause - it was something I set it to that made it that way -- so I changed that and now have not had any problems.

Well anyway if you read this in IE - it does not look right and I don't have the time to fix it anytime soon so you will have to just suffer along or download Firefox.

Master is leaving to go out of town without me....

This week has been a really bad health week for me so Master made the decision that I am staying home. He will go over do a couple of the things we had scheduled and then come back in a couple days. I am really bummed about it as we would have had some good quality time with like minded friends and I miss that.

Plus I just don't like the idea of being home alone without Master. But I do hope to catch up on some things that were neglected this week because of my health issues.

Tech Question - Firefox

I have a tech question that maybe someone can help me out with.....

I am now using FireFox and my blog font comes out all bold when I don't have it specified that way. And then on our website it changes the font to a different font then what is specified in the css.

I have not been able to do lots of searching on it to figure out why and don't want to bug Master over it as He is busy.

So anyone know what I am doing wrong please feel free to leave me a comment or drop me an email.

Edit: Figured out both problems!

2 Questions

1) Anyone having problems with HaloScan not showing comments? Such as on my yahoo group vent there are 2 comments, but it shows 0 at the end of the entry. If you have had this problem do you know how to fix it?

Edit: a 3rd comment came in and now they show up. And that is how it seems to go several will comment. It shows 0 and then all of sudden someone will comment and all of them show.

2) When people sign up for a yahoo group via an email address and don't have a profile, how do they set up a profile associated with the email address? Does anyone know how to do that or know where I could find the info on how to do that?

Nothing will be linked together tonight...not they usually are with me LOL :)

~ I feel like I should do a blog entry since Sunday was the last time I did one. This week has went fast...both Master and I commented on that while eating dinner tonight.

~ I am pmsing...at least I have to be....because I am way over reacting this week. And I feel like I can't do anything right and that often happens when I am pmsing.

~ I think I have had nightmares of Don this week. I have nightmares of him before but not in a long time now they are almost just dream like....bad but not. But this week they were nightmares.

~ I mentioned months ago that I might have do a rant about friends. One of my rants is that I will write emails - several - to real life friends and not hear back from them. It bothers me a lot. Especially the emails that ask them questions and I never hear back from them. I have a couple friends that I wrote several weeks before the holidays asking for addresses, then wrote again after the holidays, but still never got their addresses. Some of the emails to these people require a one word answer or even one line answer and they can't stop one moment and do that for me? But yet I know they are online longer reading other mail, journals, elists and websites.

Just thought about when Master and I were first corresponding and talking online before meeting...that is one thing that I liked about Him (of many that grew over getting to know Him), He answered all my emails. Even when it was a long email that He did not have time to write out a lengthy email - He would just write that...that He was busy and we could talk about it later or that He would write later. And He always followed through on that. I know it is a small silly thing to probably care about.

It is energy to me. I am putting energy into that person...reaching out, caring, trying to be supportive and/or expressing thoughts and feelings to them. And that energy is not...respected (? not sure that is the word I want.)

I feel disappointed in some of my friends - not just in regards to this - but with several other things. I hate it when people let you down....you think more of them then that and they let you down....okay mixing this with others things that are bothering me about friends...so I am going to stop this....line of writing.

Okay for months and months Master told me I should try this browser and I didn't want too...and finally I did and I love it...Avant Browser

I love the tabs and the group features. When I open it, I have it set to open 3 pages always and I love that. I love that I can group things by favorite blogs, things that I check out once a week, and so on.

I was at..........another journal that lead me to this site....it is a site that lets you "opt" out of banners. No more Pop Up Ads
