30 Days of Kink - Day 9

Day 9: Post a kink related song or music video you enjoy.

I like Pretty When you Cry by VAST.  This is the first time I think I have ever watched the video though.

I think this video is yummy....I have posted it before...it is Hurricane by 30 Seconds to Mars

I like the lyrics to Corrupt by Depeche Mode too... here is the video (just still images) and lyrics below....

I could corrupt you in a heartbeat
You think you're so special
Think you're so sweet

What are you trying
Don't even tempt me
Soon you'll be crying
And wishing you dreamt me

You'd be calling out my name
When you need someone to blame

I could corrupt you
It would be easy
Watching you suffer
Girl, it would please me

But I wouldn't touch you
With my little finger
I know it would crush you
My memory would linger

You'd be crying out in pain
Begging me to play my games

I could corrupt you
It would be ugly
They could sedate you
But what good would drugs be

But I wouldn't touch you
Put my hands on your hips
It would be too much to
Place my lips on your lips

You'd be calling out my name
Begging me to play my games

Happy New Year!

It is asked what song could sum up your past year...and I am not sure but I do know Soul meets Body by Death Cab for Cutie really was one I played over and over again.

"Soul Meets Body"

I want to live where soul meets body
And let the sun wrap its arms around me
And bathe my skin in water cool and cleansing
And feel, feel what its like to be new

Cause in my head there’s a greyhound station
Where I send my thoughts to far off destinations
So they may have a chance of finding a place
where they’re far more suited than here

And I cannot guess what we'll discover
When we turn the dirt with our palms cupped like shovels
But I know our filthy hands can wash one another’s
And not one speck will remain

And I do believe it’s true
That there are roads left in both of our shoes
But if the silence takes you
Then I hope it takes me too
So brown eyes I hold you near
Cause you’re the only song I want to hear
A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere

Where soul meets body
Where soul meets body
Where soul meets body

And I do believe it’s true
That there are roads left in both of our shoes
But if the silence takes you
Then I hope it takes me too
So brown eyes I hold you near
Cause you’re the only song I want to hear
A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere
A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere
A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere
A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere

It is 2008 and I know that what it feels like to be new....

Happy New Year!

there's only this

I am watching RENT right now. I forgot how much I like that movie. I don't know why I forgot about it. We have a pretty big movie collection and RENT is one that I just don't watch that often but every time I do -- I think I should watch it more often.

October 2006 Master and I had a road trip to visit family and on the way we played the Soundtrack to RENT quite a bit. We sang and sang to it. It was just a great way to spend the time singing the great music of RENT.

December 1st was World's Aids Day and it is the first year in many that I forgot. I didn't mention it or even think about. And I feel ashamed. Years ago it was something that I think was more up in the face with education and awareness. And it bothers me "that" has disappeared because I know HIV/AIDS hasn't disappeared. Stats -- 33.2 million people living with HIV/AIDS in 2007. It is hard to think about so many people suffering. But is something I don't want to ignore or pretend isn't an issue...it is still here. And I hope that one day there will be a cure.

Jonathan LarsonSeasons Of Love (Album Version)

(from Last.fm -- not sure I am posting it right so hopefully it works!)

Seasons of Love....just a few of the lyrics...

Five Hundred Twenty-Five Thousand
Six Hundred Minutes
Five Hundred Twenty-Five Thousand
Moments so dear
Five Hundred Twenty-Five Thousand
Six Hundred Minutes
In Daylights - In Sunsets
In Midnights - In Cups Of Coffee
In Inches - In Miles
In Laughter - In Strife

In - Five Hundred Twenty-Five Thousand
Six Hundred Minutes
How Do You Measure
A Year In The Life?

How About Love?
How About Love?
How About Love?
Measure In Love

Seasons of Love.
Seasons of Love.

Elizabethtown

Last night I watched Elizabethtown. I put it on my netflix queue after seeing Orlando Bloom in the 3rd Pirate movie as I just really liked him as eye candy. Well I wouldn't say the movie was great but it did touch me. It had some really beautiful touching moment for me and some really good lines. But then...what really pushed it over the top was the MUSIC! It is a Cameron Crowe movie and his movies usually have good music but this really seemed to even out do Almost Famous (which I have that soundtrack too because I love the music - icon is from it too).

In the movie Kirstin Dunst's character (Claire) has told Orlando Bloom's character (Drew) that he should take a road trip because he said he never had done one. She makes him this really cool altered book with maps (including places where he should stop and why), pictures and then mix cds for the whole way to fit with where he is driving. And the music....oh the music...makes me tear up now just thinking of it...as I was just so completely absorbed in it that I know I missed some of the feelings Orlando's character was suppose to be going through as I was going through my own emotions.

I immediately went to amazon.com to see about soundtrack and of course there is the orginal score and then there are 3 more cd's the main soundtrack vol. 1 and plus 2 more. One just for when they (Drew and Claire) were The Brown hotel...that one I would really like to have but it wasn't available on amazon (which btw the hotel looks like an amazing place to stay!). So today Master had some reward coupons for Best Buy and he was going to look something so he said go see if they have soundtracks for Elizabethtown. They had the main one - vol. 1 and then vol 2. I picked vol. 2. But would like to get the other sometime too.

So I am sure I will be listening to Elizabethtown soundtrack for several days/weeks.

Catch & Release

I was watching Catch and Release last night and Soul Meets Body by Death Cab for Cutie was in it. I really like the lyrics...so have been listening to it non-stop.

I want to live where soul meets body

And feel, feel what its like to be new

Cause in my head there’s a greyhound station
Where I send my thoughts to far off destinations

Catch and Release was a pretty good movie. It had Jennifer Garner and I am a fan of Alias and so like her. And then Kevin Smith was in it too. And I really like him! I thought he was really good in it.

Music...

I am baking cookies and listening to Zeros + Ones and they were playing this song that I am really bouncing and dancing to as I roll out cookies. And I am singing the lyrics...
I am singing the lyrics
...I pause to think why do I know these lyrics. And realize it is a remake of a song that I enjoyed in high school -
high school
! Oh that makes me feel old...so old. The song was Ant Music by Hyper (original by Adam Ant). Adam Ant was my first concert (and saw him multiple times).

Tonight I have made some candy. And cardamom butter cookies in the fridge to chill out over night. Then shortbread cookies baking right now. I have ingredients ready to go for triple chocolate bit size brownies. And then I will make the cardamom butter cookies with dark chocolate and espresso glaze tomorrow.

I am really like all the music on Zeros + Ones. I want listen to some more many of the artists but Kaiser Chiefs - I really liked and I know I have heard them on this station before (SIRUS - Left of Center station.)

Holiday Randomness...

  • Sound of Music is on....it is a favorite musical of mine. I love the music and sing along to it.
  • There is a song that plays this time of year that always always makes me cry. It is The Christmas Shoes by Newsong (link to lyrics). I hadn't heard it this year until just the other night while wrapping gifts. And of course I had to reach for kleenex.
  • Silly Christmas link....Mt. Dew Christmas Tree
  • Yes! A wonderful Christmas gift *giggle*
  • Been cleaning house most of the day as I have neglected it with the holiday preparations.
  • I was just thinking yesterday while unloading the dishwasher that I have had lots of depression this year but I can honestly say this Christmas I haven't felt it. The holidays can get me blue and this year doesn't seem to have hit me that hard. I had some sad moments but not depression - if that makes sense.
  • Master just called me into this office. He has video tape his Dad took of when Master got one of his cats for Christmas. She is just a little kitten and she is so her. All the things that make her darned adorable now were there in the video of her from her baby days.
  • Well going to go find my slippers because my feet are cold. And then maybe fold clothes...I know the excitement is too much!
  • But tomorrow will be good - we are going to brunch to one of our favorite places, then deliver presents. Tomorrow night will be a nice dinner followed by going out to look at Christmas lights.

    Holiday Music

I love holiday music. If I could - I would - probably play it all year around. But the day after Thanksgiving is when I drag all my holiday cds out. I think I have at least 50 (maybe more). I have everything from religious to the 80’s Holiday cd with bands. I love the Band Aide song, “Do they know it’s Christmas?” One of my favorites though and it really doesn’t matter who performs it is “Grown Up Christmas.” Or "I'll be home for Christmas."

We are about to leave for our trip so just wanted to at least get a quick entry in.

Dixie Chicks - Taking the Long Way

Okay so here is the deal...I love music. I love almost any kind of music. But country music is just something I have never been able to like. Anyway, I have not listened to much of the Dixie Chicks in the past. Someone I am actually going to mention in my poly post that is going to be posted after this post - used to listen to them quite a bit and I could stand listening to them but still it had at times too much of that country TWANG that gets to me. I downloaded 1 Dixie Chick song several years ago - their remake of Landslide. I love that song and really liked their remake of it. So I have that one. But other then that never been a Dixie Chick fan.

Anyway, Bill Maher has a show on Amazon.com now and he had the Dixie Chicks on the pilot episode and they played 2 songs and wow I loved them both. It didn't sound country to me. And Bill actually said the same thing. So Master asked me the other night if I wanted any music and right away they came to mind. So I played sample of the whole cd first just to make sure...then asked if I could have the whole cd. As it seemed amazing even just listening to little snippets of it. So he bought it for me. Yay!

Many of the songs talk about the ordeal they had after Natalie spoke out against the President Bush in 2003. And it is pretty powerful stuff - to me anyway. So I have been playing it none stop practically. I will play it and sing to it and I might play it several times in a row and then play something else and then immediately I am back to them. And each time I listen I hear another piece of lyric that really just touches me.

Anyway...I am wanting to pimp them...as it is a REALLY good CD!

    Top 5 Meme....Answers Part 1

These were asked on LiveJournal so thought I would post them here too....

Top five songs to listen to while cleaning the house:

This one was hard as there is not just five top songs. it is more like styles or era's of music that I do when housecleaning. I will often put one of those music channels on that are on the cable...sometimes it is Standards, other times 80's, 70's or todays hits. Or I will pop a cd in and then listen to the whole cd and change to another. So I am picking one song off of 5 cds that I often put into the cd player when cleaning. And this will probably be an embarrassing list! So thanks K!

    1. Come into my World by Kylie Minogue
    2. You should be Dancin by the Bee Gees (Saturday Night Fever Sountrack - tied close to the Xanadu Sountrack with ELO)
    3. Tiny Dancer by Elton John
    4. Into The Groove by Madonna
    5. Jailhouse Rock by Elvis Presley

    Top five books:

Which I have to say was easy for me as I have done those on a book meme before.

    1. The Valkyries by Paulo Coelho
    2. Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield
    3. The Forgetting Room by Nick Bantock
    4. The Pilgrimage by Paulo Coelho
    5. Home Comforts: The Art and Science of Keeping House by Cheryl Mendelson

Top five ways to treat yourself:

this one was kind of hard for me also...I just can't treat myself...because it is all on his time. Which I know you understand. Also the things that I used to do as treats involved usually leaving the house...I can't do that now. Treats then were going and getting an ice cream cone, go shopping, go just get a coke and spend sometime reading a magazine outside at a favorite spot or Barnes and Noble. Now I don't leave the house without Master so....it is harder for me to just go out make a special treat for myself. I do have down time at home though and I guess that is a way to treat myself....and there are other things I could do here at home that would be a treat...but often don't do as I would feel guilty.

    1. spend extra time in my art room
    2. read
    3. take a bath in our jet tub...don't do it often can count on one hand how many times I have done this in the past 3 years.
    4. watch a movie while I soak feet in our little foot bath thing...then do a pedicure and foot spa like treatment
    5. call a friend

Top five things on your "to do before i die" list:

    1. to have more spiritual awareness for myself
    2. to travel more
    3. to be "successful" in my art
    4. to say "yes this is it" in my service to Master. Meaning that I have reached a point where I have wanted to always be in it.
    5. give back more into the world

Top 5 things that make you feel girlie:

    1. lipstick
    2. lingerie - especially under clothes out in public...like a teddy under a dress
    3. glittery make up
    4. twirly dresses or skirts
    5. pink! any time I put on pink....it makes me feel girly

    More to come....

quick life update plus a lot of links

Master is leaving to go out of town without me....

This week has been a really bad health week for me so Master made the decision that I am staying home. He will go over do a couple of the things we had scheduled and then come back in a couple days. I am really bummed about it as we would have had some good quality time with like minded friends and I miss that.

Plus I just don't like the idea of being home alone without Master. But I do hope to catch up on some things that were neglected this week because of my health issues.

    So on to the links....

    Quick Life Update

Just a quickie to say we are home...but Master is leaving again. So, I hope to have some time to do a longer blog tomorrow night. But I do have lots on my list to do while He is out of town.

Here are just a few random notes....

  • Our weekend kind of got messed up because of the rain but it still was a good weekend with some positives.

  • Master bought the new Coldplay CD....I really like it already...and not even all the way through it the first time yet

  • Master took me to the Dollar Tree while we were out of town. Master bought me quite a few fun art things! Thank you Master!

  • Needing some girl time....talked to nuala today on the phone, hopefully going to chat with another friend tomorrow and also going to call Moni this week too! Plus I have done some emails to several friends too.

  • I can't stand drama but found out some drama tonight. I can't understand why people are so screwed up that they hang on to hatred...and that is the only word for it...hatred. Don't they understand what that does to them....their bodies, mental health, emotional health. Maybe they like the drama...I think sometimes we get so used to it we don't know any other way...I used to be like that. But I just feel sorry for those that don't wake up

  • I am going to do some art this week...so doing a happy dance!

  • I have been getting lots of wonderful, beautiful, artful maillove!

  • I am drinking diet coke out of my princess cup - it has Belle, Cinderella, and Aurora on it

  • I am going to miss Master while He is out of town

  • We both took lots of pictures this weekend. Master has me using His old camera so maybe now I am catching the camera bug as I had a lot of fun taking pictures with Him this weekend

  • Very thankful I live in Colorado! It is so beautiful

  • I am reminded many times over....each day that I am very lucky to have such a wonderful Master....Thank you for claiming me Master...I love you
