Thankful....

5 good things in my life...
1. We leave tomorrow for Denver, then Wednesday for our trip north. We are staying in Omaha on the way and I grew up there so I get to show Master some good places there. Eat at someplace I talk about all the time because I worked there. And then on Thursday we will be seeing my family! Oh and Master and I are meeting someone Master has known for quite sometime on Monday too!
2. dyed my hair so I don't feel so frumpy
3. The dvd Master made is beautiful!
4. That the pharmacy filled my prescription even though they usually require 72 hours notice - I gave them 24....very nice of them! (didn't realize all my allergy meds were so low - I hadn't taken any in a while but with being around dogs at Master's parents and my Aunts - I really will need them.)
5. I am thankful for the crystal that my girlie sent me. Thank you Thank you! I will use it well in cleansing the tarot set. Thank you!

Home Corners

This is a picture I have hanging in my studio. It might not look like much and very dated. And it is very dated -- my Grandparents gave that to me in August of 1969 so I was almost 2 years old. They wrote on the back to and from and then the date. My Mom sent me a box of stuff shortly after I moved here and this was one of the things in the package. So I hung it up in my studio. It hangs right next to my work table.

My Dad's parents were my favorite. Yes I had favorites. I loved both sets of Grandparents but my Dad's Grandparents I feel I guess I related to more. My Grandpa and I use to play cards. He taught me gin rummy probably at 6 years old. We played all the time. He was the person that taught me how to play solitaire too with real cards not on a computer. :)

My Grandma used to spend hours playing paper dolls with me. She would buy me a new set every time I stayed with them and then cut them all out for me. We talked about that when I saw her last and she said she used to get hand cramps from cutting all the paper dolls out.

Another memory with these Grandparents is that they had a house that had a garden in the back. It looked like a normal backyard with trees and grass but then at the back of it there was this little area that was raised. It has a path going through it and then tons of flowers. All different kinds. It was so pretty. The edge of it that raised up had this wide area that started the path and us kids (my sister and all my cousins) would use that as a stage and put on shows for Grandma and Grandpa. We would do skits and sing and dance. My Grandma was always teaching us new songs. For their 40th wedding anniversary - I was in high school by then but all of us grandkids got up in the hall and sang all those songs we used to sing when we put shows on for them.

So my home corners today is a trip down memory lane. I won't have another home corners until we get back from our trip - so that won't be until mid-july.

Catch & Release

I was watching Catch and Release last night and Soul Meets Body by Death Cab for Cutie was in it. I really like the lyrics...so have been listening to it non-stop.

I want to live where soul meets body
And let the sun wrap its arms around me
And bathe my skin in water cool and cleansing
And feel, feel what its like to be new

Cause in my head there’s a greyhound station
Where I send my thoughts to far off destinations
So they may have a chance of finding a place
where they’re far more suited than here

I cannot guess what we'll discover
We turn the dirt with our palms cupped like shovels
But I know our filthy hands can wash one another’s
And not one speck will remain

I do believe it’s true
That there are roads left in both of our shoes
If the silence takes you
Then I hope it takes me too
So brown eyes I hold you near
Cause you’re the only song I want to hear
A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere

Where soul meets body
Where soul meets body
Where soul meets body

I do believe it’s true
That there are roads left in both of our shoes
If the silence takes you
Then I hope it takes me too
So brown eyes I hold you near
Cause you’re the only song I want to hear
A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere
A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere
A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere
A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere

Catch and Release was a pretty good movie. It had Jennifer Garner and I am a fan of Alias and so like her. And then Kevin Smith was in it too. And I really like him! I thought he was really good in it.

A Nap....

I love this feeling....when my face still tingles hours after.....

Master told me he was wanting to take a nap late this afternoon so I went to the bedroom first and when he came in I guess he had different ideas. First we made out like teenagers. Long long kisses where we didn't come up for air but just for quick little intakes so we could keep on kissing. Then of course it moved to face slapping and a little punching...and of course I was floating away. I love that it does that to me. So now here hours after having our "nap" -- my face still tingles with the warmth of hand print.

What color is your soul painted?

What color is your soul painted?

Purple

Your soul is painted the color purple, which embodies the characteristics of sensuality, spirituality, creativity, wealth, royalty, nobility, mystery, enlightenment, arrogance, gaudiness, mourning, confusion, pride, delicacy, power, meditation, religion, and ambition. Purple falls under the element of Earth, and was once a European symbol of royalty; today it symbolizes the divine.

(I confess I took it twice to get purple. I still changed answers between things I really felt and waffled with the first time taking it.)

So today I posting a picture of this little tea cup & saucer. This was given to me by the friend that really got me hooked on tea. She had a tea party with little cucumber finger sandwiches, mini-quiches, mini-cream puffs, scones and then tea. The table, the food, the tea and more importantly the conversation were so nice. It was just such a lovely time. I miss being able to spend time with her.

15. Eleven Minutes by Paulo Coehlo - I really enjoyed the story. This is the first time I really have read one of his books and not felt I learned something after. This was just entertainment. It was a book about a prostitute and also had some SM in it too. I found it interesting since I was a prostitute. And well I like SM. :)
16. He, She, It by Marge Percy - EXCELLENT book! If you like anything set in the future - this book was very interesting. If you like history also you will like this book as it does go through Jewish history of 1600 Prague.
17. Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden
18. Collage Discovery Workshop: Beyond The Unexpected by Claudine Hellmuth
19. My Soul to Keep by Tananarive Due
20. The Reader by Bernhard Schlink
21. Guilty Pleasures by Laurell K. Hamilton
22. Circus of the Damned by Laurell K. Hamilton
23. Lunatic Cafe by Laurell K. Hamilton

Started Bloody Bones by Laurell K. Hamilton last night. If I recall correctly Bloody Bones isn't one of my favorites in the series. Still better then the last 3 books in the series but I didn't like it because it was made to be a stand alone if I recall correctly. When I watch the commentaries on Buffy or Alias - Joss and J.J. always talk about how th networks want stand alone episodes. Those episodes that don't have to do with the over all season objective. Such as nothing to do with Rambalidi in Alias or whatever villain of the season for Buffy - like the Mayor or Glory. And I wonder if Hamilton's publishers said the same thing - that they needed a book that doesn't need to go with the others...or if she wanted to make a stand alone book.

Anyway, I am enjoying those early Hamilton books again. Edward is always good to see in the books. I am really liking too that early interaction between Anita and Richard. I had forgot about Larry too - the budding animator/vampire executioner. I heard Edward is back in the new one along with Malcom so I really am looking forward to
The Harlequin
but I still feel I will wait to get it on paper back.

Twenty-three books doesn't seem like a lot of books to have read so far -- but for me it is a big deal as I didn't read one complete book last year because my focus sucked. So it nice to be reading again and getting so much enjoyment from it.

yay hormones!

Started my period today. A few days early. But here is my typical period type story of me LOSING MY BRAIN! Tonight I am making dinner - Master and I are going to watch a West Wing during dinner so I am going to bring my water from the kitchen to the living room. It was sitting on the counter next to the grillmate that I used last night. I picked up the grillmate and headed to the living room. Master looks at me looks at my hand. I look at my hand and look at him and we both bust up laughing. He said, "remind me to help you make the pie tomorrow." (I am making dessert to bring to dinner at some friends.)

Nice and Slow....

The other day I was giving Master a blow job...and it was so nice. Not that they aren't all nice but there is sometimes you know it just is different. This was just a nice and slow blow job. Master started soft in my mouth and I can't express how much that just turns me on! And I just took my time and enjoyed myself. Well he enjoyed himself too :)

But I just love that type of blow job though....yummy!

Home Corners

Master has an armoire in the bedroom. On top of it we actually store our suitcases but there is a little ledge in front of one of the suitcases and so I have some teddy bears and the pillow. Henry is the far right bear. He is a build-a-bear that girlie got me when we went to the Servant's Retreat a few years ago. Slumped behind the pillow is my well loved Ellington. I was given him by someone that I was very close to when in Ohio. I sleep with a teddy bear every night usually the same one but every so many years it is time to get a new one as I just smoosh and wear them out. And Ellington was one of those bears. Daddy bought me a new bear that I still sleep with but he is looking a little worn too - named Fitz. Next to the the slumped Ellington is Cranbeary of course. A cranbeary corduroy bear that Bill and Lisa - friends from Ohio - gave me when I was living with them. And the last little black bear with floral fabric for his paws - is named Pretty. I bought him years and years ago. The pillow a friend from Ohio gave me at a going away party before I moved to be with Master. You can also see peaking out under the pillow and in front of Henry - the music baton and if you look real closely there is a little leather loop which is the handle on the evil stick.

Prophecy Girl

This months updates/posts and actually next months too will probably be very limited. We will be leaving the last week of June and won't be back probably until around July 12th. We have lots to do before we leave so I feel like I might be a little frazzled.

So...

** This morning Master and I got up early to get to a doctors appointment. I got there and their office was locked. Pretty soon we saw the receptionist on her cell phone she was walking on the side of the building. We talked to her she didn't have me down even though she was the one that made the appointment - last time I was there. She remembered making an appointment but it wasn't on the book. And the doctor wasn't in this morning so she apologized and asked when we could come back and she would get us in. They had an available appointment for this afternoon so we took that. We went to pay and they said no charge - because they screwed the appointment up. That was very nice...and unexpected. But I guess I shouldn't be so surprised they have all been so nice in this office. It is my foot doctor and I HATE having my feet touched and they all have been so good about it.

** Okay I must be in a sappy mood right now because I love The Holiday with Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz, Jude Law and Jack Black. I have watched it 3 times. I got it via netflix so I think I will need to be sending it back sometime. :) But Kate Winslet and Jack Black...yummy! And then the part with the kid and the tent makes me tear up every time! Because I am a weeper...big weeper! (if you have seen the movie you will understand that)

** Cooking lately has been quick and easy because of everything going on. And I feel that trend isn't going to let up. Nachos, salads, pasta and sauce, fried rice...all quick and easy for me. But I do need to bake a pie on Saturday morning as we are going to dinner at friends on Saturday night. Making a chocolate buttermilk pie but really it is an easy pie so that I don't have to stress over what to bring.

** Master bought one of my FAVORITE movies! North by Northwest. He had not seen it until I DVR'd it one day so that he could watch it and then he was hooked too.

Not sure what else...so how about Positive Monday....

Home Corners

controlledgirl over on Livejournal started what is called Home Corners! It was so nice seeing her pictures that several of us have joined in the fun. It is just taking pictures and sharing bits of home with each other. I made some icons for it anyone wants to use them - it is in an unlocked post on lj.

Master bought me this our first Christmas together. He had a heck of time when he went to buy it. I had looked at when we were out and about but I never really even remember saying anything to him about how much I liked it. He went back to get it and each one had drawers stuck. So they clerks really wanted to sell it to him and so broke drawers to get one that had none stuck and then proceeded to pull drawers out of others trying to find one that drawers would fit in.

I really like the designs on each drawer. I like that holds just little things in the dining room - napkin rings, I also keep some quick sewing supplies if I need to sew button on (because I will do that at the dining room table), wine charms, and little odds and ends like that.

Gratitude Tuesday

~ T ~

tea - It was a couple of years ago I went to a good friends home and she had "tea" for us. She had little cucumber sandwiches, mini creampuffs, mini spinach quiches, scones and tea. Until then every time I tried tea I just never had liked it. But she served me a black tea -- which to that point I hadn't had. And I really enjoyed it. And from there I was hooked! And now I love tea! Lady Earl Grey is my favorite black tea and the tea she served us that day. So I am thankful for the joy and comfort tea brings me and I am very grateful for my friend that introduced me to tea in a way that I really enjoyed!
tarot - I am thankful for tarot - seeing things in the card and having them speak to me. It is something I am still not confident in but I enjoy it. Recently someone on my friend's list started posting lessons so I hope to soak those up and learn to trust myself in it more. I am thankful she started posting them and sharing her knowledge.
traveling - Master and I like to travel....although we don't get to as much as we would like. I am thankful for the times when we are able to travel and all the wonderful trips we have taken together.
trust - trust in myself....thankful for the trust I have in myself...for making good desicions and just being self aware enough to know what is good for ME.
typography - I am a font whore so maybe some can see why this is on my list. I have always loved though when looking through magainzes, newpapers, books the different lettering used and how it was used. I am thankful for typography because it gives me pleasure but also inspires me often in my art.
typing - to go with the above I am thankful for being able to type. My handwriting is not the best and typing is so much easier!
time - I am thankful for the time I have had and the time I do have...and I hope that I have a lot more in the future.
tins - I used to when married collect antique tins or reproduction tins. I still have a few antique ones but got rid of all the rest. Now I take altoid tins and decorate them...and they inspire me in ways that surprised me so I am thankful for the tins that inspire me.
today - Thankful for today.
tomorrow - And I am thankful for tomorrow and the things I have to look forward too.

Positive Monday

5 Good Things in my Life...
1. Clean sheets on the bed. I love the smell of clean sheets.
2. Vanilla White Russian - yummy!
3. New panties. :) I know silly but Master bought me some new panties this weekend and they are the most comfortable panties evar!
4. Reading....just being able to read and having read so many good books!
5. Master's phone ringing off the hook today. Now that might not seem like a great thing because it takes him away from me...but when you own your own business...it is really good! This week we celebrate a year of when he gave his notice and so I am just happy that things have went so well....and although I knew he is amazing I know it is always a scary process to venture out there on your own. I am very proud of him and happy for him. I know that with knowledge and talent he will keep moving forward.
